Wedding Band Or a DJ - How Do I Decide?
A wedding band or a DJ can both be great choices for any wedding. The best way to decide is to establish what your favorite music is. If you like more big band, oldies, and classic wedding music, then a band is probably for you. Now, if you're looking more for club songs, rap, and top 40, a DJ may be a better choice. This article will give you some other pointers and options. Good luck choosing.
One important thing to consider when choosing is cost. A good band can run anywhere from two to five thousand dollars for the night. On the other hand, you can get a DJ for as little as two to three hundred for your reception.
A nice alternative to a band is to add a percussionist with the DJ. This gives off a band sound while still enjoying the cost effectiveness of a DJ. A lot of my brides are moving more toward this. They all tell me, "You get the sound of a big band and the fun factor of a DJ, all for one low price". An option like this will probably run you somewhere around four hundred dollars.
Still not satisfied? Try hiring a Frank Sinatra or other impersonator to sing when your DJ takes breaks. These days you can find almost any impersonator. You can have your favorite star singing at your wedding. I recently attended a wedding with a Madonna impersonator. It was so much fun. This is my pick, unless you can afford all of the above.
