Camp Song Guitar Chords

Perhaps the most important aspect of knowing chord relationships
is being able to recognize a progression by hearing it. Camp song
guitar chords are the ideal place to start.

Guitar players often spend hours learning new chords without
developing the ability to listen to the sound of each chord.
Whether you're composing, arranging. or learning, you'll benefit
by having a solid grasp of theory to help your ear.

The best way to start developing educated ears is with two chord
camp song guitar chords. By limiting your initial repertoire
to songs that only contain two chords we have greatly increased
our chance of success.

Playing songs "by ear" is really a process of improving our
ability to recall sound. Our ear simply sits on the side of our
head and picks up signals, it is our memory that records the
sound. How well we can play "by ear" is a matter of training, in
fact, anyone can learn to do it!

Here is a list of the 2 main chords in each key:

Tonic (key) Dominant

Chord 1 Chord 5

C ----------- G7

F ----------- C7

Bb --------- F7

Eb -------- Bb7

Ab -------- Eb7

Db -------- Ab7

Gb -------- Db7

B ---------- F#7

E ---------- B7

A ---------- E7

D ---------- A7

G ---------- D7

You don't have to learn all of these chords, most camp songs
use the chords in the keys of C, G, D, A and E.

Camp song guitar chords in the keys of G,D,A and E are the
most guitar friendly keys.

Here are some tunes you can play and sing using the two basic
chords.

Try your choices in all the popular guitar keys: G,D A and E.
Experiment to find the best key for your voice. If you find a key
that is a little to low you can always use a capo to raise the
pitch while still retaining the chord shapes you prefer.

Many familiar songs use just these two chords. Here is a list of
some of them. Though you could get the chords out of a book, it's
good training to guess them for yourself. This type of guesswork
is part of life for any musician in "real life" situations, so
now is a good time to start training your ear to become a good
guesser.

Many guitarist's don't understand the importance of learning two
chord camp song guitar chords, although it should be obvious
if you can't play two chord songs "by ear", there's little chance
of playing three chord songs.

Now, you are probably thinking, "how do I know which chord to
start on and when do I change chords?"

It's helpful to know that almost all songs start and end with the
one chord, and that the next-to-last chord is almost always five chord.
See if your ear can tell you when to change chords and which chord to
change to. Since at any point there are just two chords to
choose from, a little trial and error might show you the way.

When you think you've got it, memorize it and when you get a
chance, check your chords with a book or a knowledgeable
musician. Remember, this type of guesswork is part of what being
a musician is all about.

Two chord camp song guitar chords are the very best way to
learn to play by ear, see if you can hear as many of the songs on
our list, get some recordings and start developing your ear,
regardless of what style of music you play there's a lot to be
learnt from these simple two chord songs.

Pure Pitch Method Review

Having a good sense of relative pitch is essential for all singers & musicians. That's why Pure Pitch Method should be a required purchase for all aspiring singers and musicians. Pure Pitch Method is the best ear training program available. And it can be purchased & downloaded immediately online.

Pure Pitch Method helps singers & musicians develop both relative pitch and perfect pitch. This ear training program will greatly improve your singing ability and your musicianship. It is also essential for songwriting. Without being able to hear music, you can definitely not write it!

Among the skills you can develop with the Pure Pitch Method is the ability to name notes and chords by ear. It was once thought that such an ability was something that one had to be "born with." But that is now known not to be true. It can be developed but only through special techniques such as those used with the Pure Pitch Method.

Another amazing skill you'll pick up by using this software is the ability to know how to play songs on your instrument (whether it be guitar, piano, or anything else) just by hearing it! The ability to play by ear separates the amateur from the truly great musician.

A particularly great skill for those who wish to write songs is the ability to compose melodies in one's head. With Pure Pitch Method that ability can be developed. When you compose a melody in your head it's often far more interesting and catchy than if it's a melody you come to while playing your instrument or singing.

The 6 Rules Of Commercial Music Success

Over the years I have had many conversations with music artists about commercial music, which usually leads to them disclosing their disdain and hatred of it. Some refer to Pop music ("Pop," as in what's popular now) as commercial music.

Others think of anything that is receiving heavy rotation on radio as commercial music. Whatever their definition, one thing is often overlooked: commercial music is the heart of the music industry which pumps the blood that keeps it alive.

So why then are so many music artists resistant to making commercial music? The answer that I'm often given is because they don't want to "sell-out" their creative integrity by conforming to some industry version of what's popular (i.e. what's selling at the moment). It becomes very obvious to me that the problem is not commercial music, but rather the perception and definition of it.

The misconception is that the music industry created this superficial definition of commercial music to strip away the artistry and true identity of artists for the purpose of making money; forcing artist to create songs that the "masses" will enjoy. That fallacy is often perpetuated by music artists who are usually incapable (not unwilling) of creating commercially viable songs. The truth is the public, not the industry, dictates what is commercial, and for decades they have gravitated towards, embraced, and purchased songs that adhere to a commercial music format.

If commercial music is the rule for success and sales in the music industry, there are inevitably going to be some exceptions to it, but unfortunately, the tendency is for music artists to try and become the exception, instead of observing the rules and why they exist.

Simply put: the rules of commercial music success have not, and will not change. Not in your life time or your children's lifetime. They exist because it's human nature to reject the unfamiliar; in the music industry, similarity is the cornerstone of acceptance. This is why so many popular songs sound similar and contain familiar elements.

It's a rule that is prevalent in every genre, and on every continent. There are those artists who do a masterful job of observing their own artistic values while delicately balancing the demands for commercial music by industry professionals. Artists such as Prince, Sting and Bjork, have pushed the envelope of creativity for years. But artists of their caliber who possess such sublime talent and vision are rare.

For the sake of clarification and argument, I will offer my explanation and industry definition of what commercial music is; based on 25 years of listening to recordings as a music lover, music industry professional, and music critic. They are songs that have the following:

1.) A STRONG HOOK/MEMORABLE CHORUS.

If no one knows what your song is called, they can't request it when they hear it on the radio. More importantly, they can't buy it at retail...or track it down on the Internet to illegally download a copy of it.

2.) GOOD MELODY.

Commercial music is characterized by good melodies (i.e. verses, choruses, and sometimes bridges that get stuck in your head and make you want to sing-along). What can the top selling hip-hop acts of the last 10 years (Tupac, Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Eminem, and 50 Cent) attribute their success to? Good melodies (not cool beats) that increase the commercial value of their music.

3.) WELL-PRODUCED.

Coming from an R&B background where producers are a pivotal part of commercial music success, I did not realize until I became a consultant that many rock bands don't utilize, nor value producers like R&B music acts. Perhaps they should since the record company often assigns top-notch producers to enhance the quality of songs (through their musical expertise) and enrich the records (through their experience and proficiency in the recording process), ultimately making them more enjoyable to listen to and, you guessed it...more commercial!

4.) APPEALING LYRICS.

The lyrics don't have to be profound; people just have to be able to emotionally connect with and mentally relate to them. If you have a way of saying common things in an uncommon way, your lyrics will have an edge over the songwriter whose song is about the same topic. Write about what's closest to your heart for credibility and sincerity, and others will be able to relate to your songs - especially if it's on a subject matter that they know or have
experienced.

5.) KEEP IT SHORT.

Keep the length of your songs down to a maximum of four minutes. Jazz and World Music are exceptions. A song that is well-written makes people want to hear it again, and again, and again. The longer the song is, the less likely that will happen. Don't believe me? Check the length of your favorite songs.

6.) TALENT/WELL-PERFORMED.

Most outstanding vocalists are often surprised by how low this rule is on the list. The fact is that there are more mediocre songs performed by outstanding vocalists, than there are mediocre vocalists performing outstanding songs. A good song that is well-performed gives it an edge, but if the song is lacking, all of the yelling and vocal acrobatics that singers tend to use to compensate for it will not make it a better song...though it may help the singer to attract better songwriters to work with. If you lack talent and it's a really good song, someone more talented can (and will) sing the song and make it better.

Now that you know the 6 rules of commercial music success, hopefully you will be able to use this information to your advantage and create songs that will increase your chances of success in your professional music endeavors...or you can ignore them and continue to wonder why no one (other than your friends and family - all of which listen to commercial music) like your songs.

Turn It Up: Plugging Into The Perfect Guitar And Amp Settings

Yowza! Did you hear that hideous noise? It sounded like a combination of nails on a chalkboard, a cat in a dryer, and a baby wailing at the top of his lungs. Do you have any idea of what made that awful sound? As a long-time musician, I think I may have the answer for you. It's a guitarist fiddling for the first time with his new amp.

Before I bought my first amp, I wouldn't have thought that a human could produce such a horribly wretched sound. But, now I know better. In the process of finding the perfect settings for your guitar and amp, you are sure to discover all kinds of disagreeable screeches and squeals, shrieks and screams. And, believe it or not, these unpleasant and often other-worldly sounds are all part of the learning experience.

I've often been asked to give beginners online advice on how to dial in their amps and guitar settings. For a number of reasons, this is no easy task. As you know, the experience of sound is totally subjective. What I may like, you may not. This said, it's hard to give definitive advice about guitar and amp settings.

So much is involved in getting the sound just right for your tastes-including the room you're playing in, the gauge of your strings, the guitar you're jamming on, and the type of amp itself. All of these come together to create a playground for experimentation: a place where you can twist this knob here and turn that knob there and, before you know it, you're a musical stylist, an expert in designing the perfect sound.

I can, however, offer a few general tips that might help out as you begin playing with your amp.

  1. Always start with your dials pointing to 12 o'clock and twist and turn from there. 12 o'clock will give you the baseline to work from and you can let your ears tell you what does and doesn't work from there.
  2. No matter how many other bells and whistles your amp has, you're almost always looking at a four basic areas you'll be most interested in learning how to manipulate:
    • Treble
Adjusting this setting will affect the amount of high end in your sound. If you go big with treble, you'll end up with a very sharp and crisp sound. However, if you go too big, you'll likely end up with a harsh sound.
    • Middle
The mids can be the most important setting to your overall sound. Adjusting these settings can really impact the overall character of your sound. Low settings can give you the classic rock-n-roll sound, while higher mids will take you down the honky-tonk, bluesy path. Play around with the mids to really see how much change you can create in your sound with the simple twist of a knob!
    • Bass
If you like that deep, booming sound, you'll definitely want to go fat on your bass. On smaller amps, however, you might not be able to get the full effect of the bass simply because of their size. But, no matter how you like it, be sure to see how the bass and treble can work with one another to create your ideal sound.
    • EQ / Filter / Tone/ Contour
They're called by different names on various amps, but they all do the basically the same thing: adjust all of your basic settings (e.g., treble, mids, and bass) with one knob. If you want to find out what the maker of your amp considers "correct" settings, play with these knobs to hear how your treble, mids, and bass all can work together for radically differing results.
  3. If you've got a valve (tube) amp, be sure to:
    • always replace the whole set when even just one tube blows
    • never move your amp while it's still hot
    • be extra careful that you line up he pins in each tube perfectly with their corresponding holes on the amp
  4. To make sure you keep your amp in top condition, be sure to:
    • keep your amp in a dry location
    • always use the best quality leads (guitar, speaker, microphone, and effects)
    • always have your amp serviced by a capable technician

In the end, you have to know this one rule of amps: there is no right or wrong way to set it up. If you like what you hear, you've done a great job. If you don't like what you hear, remember the settings and the sound and don't dial those in again. Experiment, experiment, experiment and have fun!

Choosing a Dependable Wedding DJ

The role of the DJ is mostly overlooked in a wedding. Many take him as the guy who plays the music and makes the announcements. But a DJ is far more than that. He creates the mood so the slightest mistake he makes can ruin the ceremony and get everybody leaving. It is therefore important that you choose the right DJ with the right experience? How do you do that?

Before you begin to look into anything else, arrange a meeting with the DJ. Get to know his personality. A warm DJ is what you need for the occasion. He must be friendly but not over-fraternize to ruin your wedding. Now lets see the kind of questions you may have to ask him at the meeting.

Has he got the experience required to manage music at the type of wedding you intend to hold? He may have been a DJ at a local restaurant but it requires a lot of experience to entertain a sophisticated and elderly guests such as we have at weddings.

Next talk about is equipment. Are they up to date? What about his speakers? Are they large enough to be heard across the entire hall? If you are holding the reception outside, he will need more powerful loudspeakers.

Ask about his CD collection. He must be able to play all kinds of sounds, as you will have mixed guests. He must have pop music, classical, jazz, and even waltz if someone so requests it.

Next comes the pricing. Negotiate for a day's charge instead of hourly basis. Daily charges are usually lower and will guarantee the continued presence of the DJ if there are any delays.

Now get the contract signed. That commits him to the event and ensures that he will turn up on that day.

The DJ will set the mood for the occasion. He must be chosen with great care so the visitors could dance all the way and leave the reception hall with good memories of your wedding.

Tupac Shakur Biography

Tupac was born to Afeni Shakur, June 16th 1971. His birth name, Lesane Parish Crooks, was changed shortly after his birth to Tupac Amaru Shakur. Tupac Amaru meaning Shining Serpent, and Shakur meaning Thankful to God in Arabic. Two years after his birth, Afeni Shakur gave birth to Tupacs half sister Sekyiwa. However, shortly before, the father of Sekyiwa - a Black Panther - was sentenced to 60 years for a fatal armoured car robbery. It was at this point Tupacs Thug Life really began. His mother was addicted to crack, and they were moving all the time. Tupac never got the chance to fit it. A line from Dear Mama reads, I shed tears with my baby sister, over the years we was poorer than the other little kids.

Growing up around such poverty without a man to guide him, Tupac had to learn to walk on his own. His childhood the was reason he became who he was. Having to deal with all his struggles by himself, seeing the things he did he had no one to sympathize - which is probably the reason he was so sensitive. Tupac existed in Solitude even as a child, until he discovered his love for acting, writing and poetry.

When I was young, I was quiet, withdrawn. I read a lot. I wrote poetry. I kept a diary. I watched TV all the time. I stayed in front of the television. And I could see all these people out there in this pretend world. And I knew I could be part of it if I pretended too. The way Arnold looked on Diffrent Strokes, I used to like the lifestyle, the way he used to live. So early on, I just watched and emulated. I thought if I can be an actor and act like those characters, I could have some of their joy.

Tupac stated the above in the DVD: Tupac Resurrection. At the age of 12, he discovered rather than keeping all his thoughts and emotions to himself, he could share them through poetry, or perhaps emulate other characters emotions through acting. Tupacs first acting job was at the Apollo Theatre, as Travis from Raisin in the Sun. He claimed the feeling that rushed to him as the curtains were lifted was better than anything. I was like, Whoa, this is it.

Tupac attended The Baltimore School for the Performing Arts where he studied Acting and Ballet after his family moved to Baltimore, Maryland, as a result of his mother losing her job in new York. At the time, Baltimore had the highest rate for black killings in the country. This was when Tupac was really exposed to poverty. I was living in the ghetto. We didnt have lights and electricity. At the age of 15 he discovered his love for rap music, and writing lyrics. As MC New York, he wrote his first rap.

His family moved to California to escape the violence, but was exposed to more poverty. At this point Tupac began hanging with the wrong crowd. He didnt have enough credits to graduate, so he dropped out. He needed a way to make money, so he tried selling drugs. But instead, the drug dealers used to give him money and tell him, Dont get involved with this. Get out there, do your dream.

So they was like my sponsors. My dream was to make a living rapping. Just to make music that was coming from my heart. When I first started rapping, I needed the money, and I had to work.

At the age of 20, Tupac joined the Rap group Digital Underground where he began his career as a dancer. Later on, Leila introduced him to Atron who was managing Digital Underground: Ill send you to Digital
Underground. Theyre in the studio. Rap for Shock G on the spot. If he like you, Ill pick you up.

Tupac made is first appearance in Digital Undergrounds hit Same Song. From this point, Tupac went on to become the most notorious rapper in history. Now with the alias 2Pac, he released his own album 2Pacalypse Now, which was a huge success. Amongst the tracks, was the hit Brendas Got a Baby which gave him the boost he needed. Another of the tracks featured on 2Pacalypse Now, Tupac rapped about police brutality. Ironically, shortly thereafter, he was allegedly assaulted by Oakland police following an arrest for Jaywalking - he filed a $10 million lawsuit, but settled with $42 thousand.

His amazing talent resulted in him being offered a role in the film Juice. From here Tupac went on to release his second solo album, Strictly for my N.I.G.G.A.Z - another huge success. Also in 1993, Tupac featured aside Janet Jackson in the movie Poetic Justice, which revealed Tupacs more sensitive side. Just as things seemed to be going great, a 19 year old woman- whom Tupac met just four days before - is allegedly sexually abused by the rapper.

In early 1994, Tupac played the role of Birdie in the movie Above the Rim alongside Marlon Wayans. As things seemed to be picking up again, Tupac is shot five times and robbed for $40 thousand jewellery in a Times Square recording studio. Despite doctors orders, Tupac checked himself out of Bellevue Hospital just hours after surgery. The case remains unsolved; however Pac was convinced that Puffy and Biggie - members of the Bad Boy group - were responsible for the shooting. Just two months later Tupac was sentenced to up to four and a half years in prison, as a result of being found guilty of sexual abuse. Whilst serving his time in New Yorks Rikers Island penitentiary, Tupacs third album - Me Against the World - reaches #1 and goes double platinum within 7 months.

After serving 8 months in prison, Tupac was released after Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight posts a $1.4 million bail. In return, Tupac signed with Death Row and began recording All Eyez On Me immediately after flying to Los Angeles.

September 7th 1996, after watching the Mike Tyson vs Bruce Seldon fight in Las Vegas, Tupac was shot four times in the chest in a drive-by shooting involving a white Cadillac. Suge Knight, the driver, was merely grazed by a bullet, and immediately rushed Tupac to the University Medical Centre. He has his right lung removed during surgery.

After six days in critical condition, on September 13th, Tupac Shakur - at the age of 25 - was pronounced dead at 4:03pm Even in his death, Tupac continues to reach hundreds and thousands of fans

Ten years after his death, Tupacs murder remains unsolved. A conspiracy theory was created, and many people today believe that Tupac faked his death That he is alive. To find out more, read my article - Is Tupac dead or alive?

Best Guitar For the Blues

The term "blues" for the music genre is taken from the fact that it is music generated from blue notes. These notes are the kind that is sung in a lower pitch relative to the major notes in the musical scale. Other than that, there are really no common characteristics to the music genre since it is integrated into many music types itself. Among the many popular music genres that uses the blues are jazz, rhythm and blues, bluegrass, rock and roll, hip-hop and many others. In truth, the blues has become the foundation and root of so many popular music forms.

The best guitar for the blues can bring out the real beauty of the music genre. This is because the modern day blues is known to be based off the mixed musical traditions from Europe and Africa, where the artistic effects of vocals and guitar are wonderfully blended into a new genre that incidentally, is also responsible for acting as the foundation for so many popular music genres. Conversely, these popular music genres also use the best guitar for the blues when they make music. For example, genres like electric blues and rock and roll focus on the guitar's base strings for accompaniment such as the shuffle rhythm, a cool but steady way of playing the guitar's base.

For country blues performers, the best guitar for the blues is used with the slide guitar style, wherein the instrument is fretted or strummed with a coin, the edge of a knife or half a bottle cap. There are actually many sub genres of the country blues that use the slide guitar style, making it a very significant method of making the genre. Although this method can also be done with a banjo, the modernization of music makes the guitar a more ideal alternative between the two string instruments.

The best guitar for the blues is also used for many blues musicians from Memphis, Tennessee. The Memphis blues style is made up of many unconventional instruments like the fiddle and mandolin. More importantly, the style also uses a guitar with the ensemble.

For the music genre, it seems that the best guitar for the blues really depends on the style in which every blues artist wants to express in the music. Because the blues does not really have strict common characteristics, it becomes one of the more versatile music genres of its kind.

Lesson 09 Major Chords

After you learn the major scale pattern you can start to construct a plethora of chords, even make up your own chords. Chords are made up of certain note of a scale and then played together. It is good to know that just because some chords don't sound pleasing to the ear doesn't mean that they aren't chords. Some chords are made to go with others and sound better accompanied by other chords.

The Pattern

The short explanation of how to play a major chord is to take the 1st, 3rd, and 5th notes of the major scale and play them together. If thats all you need for an explanation then your on your way, but to fully understand this subject we need to put it into context.

The Details

Lets take the G major scale as an example. G, A, B, C, D, E, F#. If we take the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes from that scale we would have G, B, and D. Now we can play them together on the fretboard and have a nice sounding Gmaj chord. But we are only using three strings at the most. To really get a nice full sound we can repeat these notes on higher strings. Since there are D, G, and B strings on the guitar we can play these strings open and they will fit into the chord nicely. The more correct notes you an play at once the better and fuller the chord will sound. If you are using distortion it may be better to use less notes, sometimes more strings can just make distortion sound muddy and nasty.

Constructing other Chords

To construct other chords take the scale that pairs up with the chord you want to make and take the 1st, 3rd, and 5th notes of the scale and play them together. Remember that you may have to move the 3rd note to another string to make it playable. If you want to fill out the sound try to figure out were you can play those same notes other places on the fretboard at the same time.

Like scale chords are moveable as well. Barre chords are the easiest chord to move around the fretboard. Take the major barre chord pattern and move it up and down the neck to make new chords. Chords with open strings in them are a little harder to move up and down because of the weird shapes of the open chords.

How Career Ambitions Can Be Achieved

Are your career ambitions to be in a job that provides you with a sense of security, challenges you and ultimately makes you happy? But closely linked to the education one gets, the environment one grows up in, the people you interact with, career ambitions are complex and multi-dimensional. With a career change being necessary, for whatever the reason, job interest, performance capability and career ambitions are not necessarily aligned

Do you struggle with poor job choices, bad employment options, and frustrated career ambitions? Women often perfect their skills in larger corporations, but leave when their career ambitions are not fulfilled. A major setback for women in terms of careers is having children and part time or flexible working can mean career ambitions are curtailed.

It's almost unbelievable that 30 years after the Sex Discrimination Act came into force, that half the population (no minority group here then) are being short changed and under represented in the most powerful positions

What Can You Do About It?

Keep yourself motivated and learning with a fresh professional challenge. Keep on the course that you have already set for yourself.

If you do poorly in an interview and do not receive an offer, it could be because of one or more of these common interview faults:

It is your responsibility to ensure the interviewer gets the information needed to make an employment decision in your favour. At the end of the interview you have the opportunity to ask questions covering new information and clarifying previous points such as: How long is the training program? or Is this a new position?

Finding Opportunities

Look at the internet every other day and join as many "jobs by email" lists as possible. Go for any job remotely connected to what you want to do, even if they ask for something you haven't got; you can find out about skills in demand and if you get an interview then you can demonstrate your abilities to learn. The goal of the interview is to get to know you so that you can be evaluated for a job you will be able to thrive in and where you can do your best.

After all, for a successful company to continue to succeed, you must share a sense of purpose and motivation. This is because an employee's ability to make a good first impression is a definite asset to the individual and the firm/company he or she represents.

Let's Hear 'Em Bass Guitar Chords

Youve heard a lot about rhythm and blues, but its the bass that makes you want to dance. Its the thumpa-thumpa that gets your groove on, your head bobbing up and down and your feet a-tapping. Indeed, its all about the bass - the lower notes that give guitar music the texture and body. In a band, its the bass player that closes the gap between tempo and harmony. Thats from endless years of practice perfecting the craft, which beginners can learn from bass guitar chords.

Hearing bass?
